The historic center of the three monotheistic religions, the Holy Land is sacred to millions of believers. It is without a doubt a magical and mystical world, a place where colors, sounds and smells transport one way back in time. Throughout the years, I have tried to understand what it is that leads thousands of Christian, Jewish and Muslim believers to choose a way of life governed by religion even in its smallest details. For a substantial group of devout believers in all three religions, life goes on as it always has through history: They fulfill the role of preserving rituals, costumes and religious beliefs born of a place that marks the beginning of everything. I have seen pilgrims from all over the world come to the Holy Land to fulfill a religious dream. They come to see with their own eyes and touch with their own hands places which are living proof of their faith. They all act in the name of God. They all claim to possess the absolute truth when it comes to faith and belief. They all have the common denominator of devoting their lives to religion in the Holy Land.
